My research, as a clinical psychologist, focuses on the field of clinical health psychology, specifically exploring how individuals’ perceptions of illness, encompassing their knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding health and illness, shape their health behaviours. This includes studying these perceptions in various contexts, from preventive measures like vaccinations (primary prevention) to managing the long-term effects of conditions like stroke (secondary prevention) and mitigating the impact of existing illnesses on overall health (tertiary prevention). Ultimately, my goal is to develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions that effectively guide behavioural change. To specifically address vaccination behaviour, my research focuses on understanding and refining the measurement of vaccine hesitancy/readiness. This involves exploring the relationship between vaccine hesitancy/readiness and individuals’ intention to get vaccinated, aiming to contribute to a comprehensive model of vaccine acceptance.
