Your work (vaccine-related):
Lison Merville-Boudjema holds a PhD in sociology (URMIS, 2023). Her thesis focuses on the processes of othering experienced by people identified as ‘migrant Roma’ in France in relation to the categorisation of precarious housing (squats, shanty towns and camps). The issue of vaccination appears even more prominent in her fieldwork, as she is conducting part of it while working as an interpreter for the Médecins du Monde association in Marseille during the Covid-19 pandemic (2020).
From 2024 to 2027, she is a postdoctoral researcher on the TUBAAT (TUBerculosis – Anticipation– Adaptation – Territories) project led by the CIRI (Centre de Recherche Internationale en Infectiologie) laboratory at Lyon 1. She is interested in tuberculosis, using social science tools within a multidisciplinary project (microbiology, epidemiology, socio-anthropology, economics). Once again, the issue of vaccination appears in the subject of the investigation, this time with BCG more specifically.
