Sociology, Political science – Cermes3
The RAREVAX research project, conducted with Sarah Demart, uses a qualitative, multi-site approach (Belgium and France) to explore the experiences and viewpoints of people who have not been or have only partially been vaccinated against Covid-19. The aim is to identify the rationales underlying these experiences, in the light of critical relationships with politics, science and dominant health knowledge. This comprehensive analysis is based on in-depth interviews looking at people’s experiences of the pandemic and vaccine policy, prevention practices and health pathways, and the various forms of commitment. This contribution to the sociology of health is part of a critical perspective informed by studies of ignorance, as well as feminist and decolonial epistemologies.
