A researcher in the political sociology of health, I have been working since 2021 on the contribution of private consultancies to public action in health. With the CEPED team (funded by GRIP and Liepp) I have carried out a review of the academic literature on this subject and a survey of the public-private implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination policy in France within the public agency responsible for it. This work analyses the determinants of the creation of ‘integrated teams’ – made up of consultants, contract agents and permanent staff – within the Agency, the effects of this hybridisation of teams on their working relationships and the way in which the intervention of consultants helps to maintain the State’s regulatory role in this health expertise agency.
